I have had to complete this bike on a very tight budget – almost a “recession build” if you like, which is also very in tune with every day bikers & the current financial climate most of us now face.

I am not complaining though as it has made me think a lot more about using thought on improving what’s already there, rather than just unbolting & bolting on of aftermarket parts

The spin off for the business has been an opportunity to now offer customers our “emissions de- restricting” all while carrying out routine servicing.

In short, what have achieved is getting the Blade breathing properly & probably how Honda would have liked to have offered it you in the first place!

Removing the emissions junk & bulky brake reservoirs for smaller ones that are also more pleasing on the eye have netted a 4kg loss in weight, I’ve added Piper Cross air filters, +2 Talon rear sprocket & quick shifter coupled with an internally “gutted” exhaust can has livened the Blade up no end.

The forks have been dropped through the yokes by 5mm with no loss in stability & static sags have been set front & rear, ride quality is excellent & it has such a good front end with brilliant turn in.

The Blade is a great basis as standard & is just missing out on some engine performance; also the standard suspension set up is almost more stable than necessary. This is what I have sought to correct.

Power wise biggest gains were from the very restrictive emissions led air intake, with its flapper valve & internal webbing which made for a time consuming job to remove. The exhaust now has a lovely deep burble & sounds great!!

The whole package really gels & it is such an enjoyable ride, whether flicking up in 3 or just purring around the streets I always come back with a smile – to me this is a job well done...Without the divorce for over-spending!!!!

The Blade has been up to Daytuner Performance in Harrogate
The dyno tested with 164.5 rear wheel brake horse power and 81.1ftlbs.

Daytuner's dyno is one of the most stringent dyno's in the North West.

The entire exhaust is stock but modified.

All the modifications internally are cheap as chips to carry out and have a huge effect on performance.

The bike is 3 horse power up on a stock 2011 Fireblade tested on the same dyno, in the same conditions.........RESULT!!
